Mark your calendars now for the 2009 NAMLE Professional Development Institute.
The Nebraska Association for Middle Level Education is pleased to announce that South Sioux City will be hosting the 2009 NAMLE Professional Development Institute, formally called the NAMLE State Symposium.
The NAMLE Professional Development Institute will feature Marcia Tate, a nationally known speaker who will share her wealth of knowledge on various research-based strategies to increase student learning. Be prepared to learn, laugh and learn even more with Marcia Tate. Along with keynote presentations, there will be a wide variety of breakout sessions that will cover the many different academic needs of the students in the middle. The breakout sessions will be presented by practicing educators who will share their classroom strategies with you. There will be session on effective teaming practices and creating learning communities within your school.
During the annual Professional Development Institute, NAMLE will be recognizing those middle level teachers who have been selected as the 2009 NAMLE Award of Excellence winners and the 2009 NAMLE Merit Award recipients of $500 grants from NAMLE. See the information in the Spectrum or the website about both of the NAMLE awards.
The 2009 Professional Development Institute will be another excellent conference with national speakers and practicing middle level educators sharing their wealth of knowledge. Past attendees have shared their high praise for the quality of information that is presented at the NAMLE Professional Development Institute. Register now for this school years Professional Development Institute by printing the registration brochure and mail it in. If you have a strategy or other concept that would benefit middle level educators and would like to share the strategy, please be sure to fill out a presenter’s form that can be found on the website and send that in as well.
To help with symposium, please pre-register as early as possible. Walk-in registrations will be accepted at the symposium site. The symposium will begin with a continental breakfast starting at 7:30 A.M. and lunch is included in the cost of the registration. At the final keynote presentation, NAMLE will give away various prizes, including a free registration to middle level Nuts and Bolts conference in Boulder, CO.
